JC: Once the title was won and all those emotions let loose on the beach, Brawzinho still had a serious shot at winning the Aloha. But the question was, had he put everything into that title-winning heat?
MB: My focus changed! Everything went into my bid for the title. After I’d won I tried, but in my heat against Josh there were all sorts of emotions going through my head. Against Morgan I was a little more back into it, but the conditions were really tough. The wind was gusty and I couldn’t connect a long wave. I had a tweaked air and a turn, but Morgan had the bigger sets. He was sailing insane, so fair play. After the title was in-the-bag, my concentration was a little bit off.
