I’ve been travelling to Lewis now for nearly 12 years, mostly on my own, so it was a bit different to be heading up there with a ‘crowd’ of 4 guys! Funny how I was already stressing about the break being crowded and missing some waves. Lewis is that sort of place though. You go there for solitude. A back-to-basics approach. That’s how I grew up wavesailing at Magheroarty in Ireland, so coming to Lewis and pitching my tent and lighting a fire makes it feel like a home-away-from-home!
