The U.K. often proves that perfect conditions can often be right on your doorstep. Or perhaps just a full day’s drive from your front door. And a 3-hour ferry ride. But for one member of this expedition to the Outer Hebrides, the chance of scoring empty waves on the isle of Lewis was enough to justify a madcap dash back from Maui.
