In late January 2006, 10 full years and many Cabo Verde missions later, I rode Ali Baba for the first time, and it was beyond my wildest dreams. Josh Angulo and I had done the coast run from Fontana, to Corral Joul, to Ali Baba. We were neck in neck at the point, when Josh pumped up to a plane, grabbed a head high wave, that grew into a mast high wave, and he went all the way, disappearing into a tiny speck. I was baffled! It was not possible to immediately understand, nor accept the sheer length of the ride.
